Help us help your community meet their litter control, beautification and environmental improvement goals. Each year, KNMB supports more than 50 grant projects in communities large and small around the state. We also carry out special events, coordinate the Arbor Day Poster Contest and keep everyone informed through KNMB.org.
Arbor Day Poster Contest
Fifth graders from around New Mexico will participate in this contest and through their artwork show us why Trees Are Terrific! The winners will be announced at a ceremony in the top choice’s community, and honored by the State Forestry Division, the State Urban Forestry Council, Keep New Mexico Beautiful and our sponsors, among other distinguished guests. In 1985, Keep New Mexico Beautiful was designated the official New Mexico clearinghouse for beautification by House Bill 198, as amended. KNMB fulfills that responsibility through three principle activities: KNMB Grants, Dusty Roadrunner Educational Outreach, and KNMB.org. Help us maintain and improve this website. More than 70 organizations and members around the state request funding from KNMB each year for litter control & clean-up, native plant landscaping, xeriscaping, recycling, and other beautification projects. Dusty Roadrunner Educational Outreach
Dusty Roadrunner is New Mexico’s official litter control mascot and has been visiting schools and communities around New Mexico teaching litter control and beautification messages since 1969. The Dusty Roadrunner program also provides educational materials, such as
Fun with Dusty Roadrunner and
Dusty Roadrunner visits New Mexico’s National Monuments. Your support will keep Dusty Roadrunner traveling the state of New Mexico teaching elementary school children how to reduce-reuse-recycle and other environmental stewardship practices.
